State Band Festival 2011
Congratulations to the bands for earning outstanding ratings at the State Band Festival at Lindbergh on March 1, 2011. The Freshman Band performed Clare Grundman "Kentucky 1800" featuring Josh Ocuamon, trumpet, and Henry Fillmore "Lassus Trombone" featuring the trombone and baritone sections. They earned a I, II, and II- in prepared music and a I in sight-reading for an overall rating of I. Here is the Freshman video. The Concert Band performed Ed Huckeby "Antecedium" and Karl King "United Nations." They earned all II ratings in prepared music and sight-reading for an overall rating of II. Click for the Concert video. The Symphonic Band played Ralph Vaughan-Williams "Sea Songs" and Johannes Hanssen "Valdres" featuring Blake Scoville, clarinet, and Andy Cox, trumpet. They earned a I, I-, and II+ in prepared music and a I in sight-reading for an overall rating of I. Here is the Symphonic video.
