Drum Line
About the Group:

The Wildcat Pride Drum Line is a dedicated group of students commited to further developing their percussive talents and bringing a high level of musicianship to the field.  The Drum Line consists of two units: the pit and battery sections.  The battery is the on-field section consisting of snare drums, tenors, bass drums and cymbals.  Found on the front sideline is the pit, made up of a variety of keyboards, drums, cymbals and other percussion accessory instruments.

Together, this group rehearses as a whole everyday during 7th hour Marching Band and every Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  The battery begins Thursday night warm-ups at 5:00 p.m.
Sub-sectionals are held once a week from 3:15 -4:15 p.m. after school.  This time is used to focus on one smaller section of the drum line at a time where students are provided more individualized instruction to work on technique and rehearse the fall marching band show.

Percussion Class
During second semester, percussionists meet during either 4th, 5th or 7th hour to work on percussion skills, percussion ensembles and music for the Freshman, Concert, and Symphonic Bands. All members perform in one of the bands and one of the percussion ensembles.

Solos & Small Ensembles
Many percussionists of the Concert and Symphonic Bands form small ensembles and perform as soloists in the Suburban and State Solo and Ensemble Festivals.  Those students in the Symphonic Percussion class will be expected to participate in a solo.
