Jazz Lab
Our zero hour Jazz Lab meets four days a week, Tuesdays through Fridays at 7:08 a.m. These dedicated musicians work on the theory and artistry of jazz improvisation during the exploration of standard jazz literature. They have "first dibs" at membership in the Jazz Band. This eight-member combo regularly represents the Eureka High School music department in events at EHS as well as other occasions in our community.
Jazz Band
The Eureka High School band program features a 24 member Jazz Band. This ensemble meets on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:40 - 8:10 a.m. which has the added benefit of permitting students to participate in other activities such as sports, drama, youth groups, and many other student interests. The Jazz Band performs big band arrangements in a variety of jazz styles. They perform in the March and May concerts and other concerts as opportunities arise.
