Remember that unexcused absence from performance is a two letter deduction for the quarter grade and eliminates you from receiving an extra-curricular letter.

A big wildcat welcome goes to Mr. Neil Hershey who was recently named assistant director of the Eureka High School Bands. Mr. Hershey is a trumpet player, a graduate of Texas Tech University, and has taught at the middle school and high school levels in the public schools of Texas, most recently in Pearland, TX. He will also assist the 7th and 8th grade bands at Wildwood Middle School. Welcome, Mr. Hershey!
Due to our increasing enrollment, we welcome Mrs. Denise Dauw to our first semester band program. Mrs. Dauw is the assistant band director at Wildwood Middle School, and she is a flute and oboe player. She has experience teaching band, orchestra, and colorguard in the Hillsboro, Francis Howell, and Webster Groves school districts. Mrs. Dauw will also teach a guitar class at EHS. Welcome, Mrs. Dauw!
Welcome to Mrs. Kim Frauenhoffer who was recently brought on to coach our colorguard. Mrs. Frauenhoffer works for Rockwood in the Partners in Education (PIE) program. She participated in colorguard and wrote choreography at the University of Missouri and Lafayette High School. Welcome, Mrs. Frauenhoffer!
Congratulations to Dr. Matt Frederickson who was recently named Fine Arts Coordinator for the Rockwood School District. In his new role, he will oversee curriculum and staffing for all of the fine arts programs on 29 school campuses. With a master's degree in educational administration, a PhD in curriculum & instruction, and educational and administrative experience at all levels, Dr. Frederickson is particularly qualified to lead our district fine arts programs in this way. Congrats, Dr. Fred!
Congratulations to Band Patrons President, Mary Roberds, for being awarded the 2009 ROSE Award. The ROSE Award is Rockwood's highest award, and the ceremony was held on May 3. In addition to her service as President of the Band Patrons Association, Mary donates countless hours to the PTO at EHS and LaSalle Springs MS, the Boy Scouts of America, and many ad hoc district committees. We are so lucky to have you on our team, Mary!
