The STORM! Is Tops At Rolla
The band took their show on the road one last time for this competition season on October 23, 2004 with their STORMworks! program at the Route 66 Marching Festival. The band earned first place in the Maroon Division (large schools) and was the top band of the day. They also captured caption awards for Outstanding Wind Section, Outstanding Colorguard, and Outstanding Percussion. This was the band's second top award for music this season. Colorguard earned two firsts and a second this year. This was the percussion section's first award of the season, but especially significant since this was the second year they earned the percussion trophy at Rolla. Handshakes and hugs were all around as we boarded the buses for a late but restful ride home.
