Band 2nd At Rolla In Season Closer
Just one short week with a "no-school Friday" after finishing 45th at the BOA Super Regional and 7th at the Francis Howell Central Coliseum Classic, the band loaded the buses and trucks and headed to the Route 66 Marching Band Festival at Rolla High School. Their hard work and spirit shined through a sloppy, muddy field and they placed 2nd in their class, a scant five-tenths from 1st place. The percussion earned their first caption trophy since 2004, and colorguard was in 2nd. In a pleasant surprise, the band was evaluated first in both visual captions, reflecting their drill, interval spacing, alignment, marching style and uniformity, and colorguard visual.
These scores were a complete reversal from the previous weeks scores. The week before we were rated last in both visual captions, 5th in colorguard, and last in percussion. The students are to be celebrated for a tough spirit and for their hard work to overcome these ratings and to turn their presentation around in such a positive way! Great season, band, and thanks for your hard work, seniors!
